HiFyve is hiring a Maintenance Technician in the Automotive Seating and Accessory Manufacturing industry in New Castle, IN!
Salary: $26.38 - $33.60 + $1.00 shift differential
Shift: 3rd, Mon - Fri 10pm - 6:30am + Weekend OT (occasional)
Location: On-site | New Castle, IN
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, repair, installation, adjustment, rebuilding, and preventative maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment.
- Replace and troubleshoot electrical components including switches, fixtures, wiring, fuses, motors, circuit breakers, transformers, relays, timers, thermocouples, solenoids, and disconnects.
- Install, run, and troubleshoot electrical conduit, control wiring, panels, and ladder logic systems.
- Diagnose machinery problems, determine the appropriate repair, and test equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Perform mechanical maintenance including lubrication, alignment, bearing and seal replacement, gear synchronization, belt and chain replacement, and fastener torqueing.
- Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, air, water, gas, steam, and other process piping systems.
- Support robotic and welding equipment by monitoring robot teaching and weld conditions, performing adjustments, and maintaining required documentation.
- Perform welding and cutting operations as needed, with exposure to Laser, Resistance, MIG, Stick, and TIG welding processes.
- Read blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics and use precision measuring instruments to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Support facility, utility, and grounds maintenance as needed and collaborate with engineering on special projects and equipment improvements.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A two-year technical degree, electrical certificate, or applicable license is helpful.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an industrial, commercial, or military maintenance environment is strongly preferred.
- Automotive manufacturing experience highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills, particularly with automated equipment.
- Working knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including writing, installing, and troubleshooting ladder logic.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how machinery and components fit and operate together.
- Knowledge of welding fundamentals, welding equipment setup and operation, and the ability to recognize acceptable versus unacceptable welds.
- Experience with machine tools and welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering sketches, designs, and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with robotics, weld equipment, and robot teaching/adjustment processes.
- Ability to use powered hand tools, precision measuring instruments, rigging equipment, and material-handling equipment.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, work at heights, climb stairs, and work on-site throughout the scheduled work week.
