Southern Flow Inc. | Alpharetta, GA

Are you the person who keeps everything organized, gets people moving, and makes sure important things get done? Southern Flow, Inc. is a growing systems integration firm based in Alpharetta, Georgia, specializing in instrumentation, telemetry, and controls automation for water and wastewater facilities throughout the Southeast. We are looking for a confident, organized, and proactive Assistant Project Manager to help keep our engineering and production projects on schedule and moving forward.

You do not need to be an engineer. You do need to be personable, detail-oriented, comfortable following up on commitments, and willing to have direct, respectful conversations when something needs attention.

Primary Job Duties:

· Develop and maintain project schedules, priorities, milestones, and near-term lookaheads using Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, or Southern Flow project systems.

· Follow up with Project Engineers and department managers on deadlines and commitments; request status updates and recovery plans when milestones are at risk.

· Identify schedule conflicts and dependencies across engineering, material procurement, production, field installation, and startup; escalate unresolved issues.

· Prepare and maintain project Schedules of Values (SOVs) for management review and approval.

· Review and coordinate project change orders; approve routine items within established limits, process fully approved changes, and update project records, SOVs, and WIP.

· Track project labor hours, budgets, and financial progress; maintain work-in-progress (WIP) information and coordinate with accounting on billing support.

· Maintain submittal registers and track submissions, reviews, approvals, resubmittals, and other outstanding project documentation.

· Support production scheduling and coordination of upcoming manufacturing, testing, shipping, and field activities.

· Prepare clear project status reports and dashboards; identify risks, document follow-up actions, and assist leadership with project-related logistics and process improvements.

Qualifications

Requirements

· Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities.

· Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; friendly and approachable, but confident when discussing deadlines or responsibilities.

· Proactive mindset, sound judgment, and a track record of following issues through to resolution while working independently or on a team.

· Strong attention to detail and comfort working with budgets, schedules, spreadsheets, and project financial information; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.

· Ability to learn project management software. Experience in construction, project coordination, manufacturing, or engineering services is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in construction, contracting, subcontracting, engineering, or another project-based industry.
  • Familiarity with construction/engineering project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages.
  • Experience coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with purchase orders, project budgets, and job cost tracking.
  • Experience with project management or construction management software.
  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, project management, or a related field.

Compensation and Work Environment:

This is a full-time, primarily in-office position in Alpharetta, Georgia, with typical work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The salary range is $65,000-$80,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.

Southern Flow offers employer-supported health insurance, unlimited PTO in accordance with company policy, profit-sharing opportunities, professional development, and room to grow into broader project management and operations responsibilities.
