Job Title: Test Technician (Intermediate) – Multiple Openings
Position Overview
A leading technology and telecommunications innovator in San Diego, CA is seeking multiple Intermediate Test Technicians for 12+ month contract opportunities. In this role, you will execute test methodologies, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain specialized test equipment. We are actively hiring for both 1st and 2nd shifts.
Shift & Compensation Options

- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM PST | Pay Rate: $22.70 - $28.37 / hour
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM PST | Pay Rate: $24.97 - $31.21 / hour
Top Required Skills
- Testing Methodologies: Experience executing test methodologies across various technologies.
- Procedures: Experience following, adapting, and helping to define established testing procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot issues/failures, report results, and recommend root causes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Experience performing setup, calibration, maintenance, and repairs on specialized test equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Execution: Execute and improve test plans; manage test methodologies for various technologies and document results based on unique testing needs.
- Equipment Setup & Maintenance: Perform complex calibration, setup, upgrades, and repairs on specialized test equipment; load and run complex programs or builds.
- Data Analysis & Debugging: Identify, debug, and troubleshoot complex testing failures; gather information to pinpoint where errors occurred and recommend/implement root-cause solutions.
- Project & Team Collaboration: Communicate across teams to provide status updates on obstacles; collaborate with internal and external functions to integrate projects.
- Task Management: Manage team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables for small to mid-sized projects with minimal guidance; re-scope projects and delegate work as needed to address changing timelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 6 months to 1 year (0.5 – 1+ years) of relevant testing/technician experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Software/Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Teams and troubleshooting applications.
- Problem-Solving: Strong deductive and inductive problem-solving skills; ability to interpret intermediate data analysis even when information is incomplete.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information; basic negotiation, tact, and diplomacy skills required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Certifications: Forklift certification is NOT required. Driving responsibilities are NOT required.
Level of Responsibility
- Works under moderate supervision while providing some guidance/peer-mentorship to other team members (no direct reports).
- Tasks require multi-step planning and prioritization; creativity is encouraged to draft original technical documentation or work products within established guidelines.
