Overview

The tower technician plays an essential role in performing a wide variety of field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and testing various telecommunication components & equipment with heights up to 500 feet in accordance with OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications / Duties

• Ability to pass all required pre-employment processes, including a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
• A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Good physical stamina, including the ability to climb towers, lift, pull, and push up to 75 lbs., and maintain various body positions for extended periods.
• Willingness to travel within the State of Hawaii, with overnight stays ranging from 1-4 days on an as-needed basis. Per Diem will be provided for all overnight travel.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools and the ability to manipulate industry-specific equipment and instruments with precision within designated work areas.
• Provide maintenance services such as grinding down rust spots and painting equipment
• Assistance with various testing procedures, including Fiber testing, PIM testing, and Sweep tests.
• Ability to climb and rappel from towers and buildings as needed to provide installation or demolition services.
• Availability for night work on an as-needed basis.
• Installing and mounting antenna / monopoles and fiber optic or coax cables
• Other duties as assigned to support project needs.

Training and Certifications

Employment Details

This is a full-time position, typically Monday through Friday. The starting pay is $24 per hour, with potential for variation based on experience. Interisland travel and stays, as well as weekend work, are required on an as-needed basis.
