PART-TIME MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I
Homewood – Pittsburgh, PA
Approximately 20 Hours Per Week | $18–$20 per hour | $1,000 Sign-On Bonus
Looking for steady, hands-on work without committing to a full-time schedule?
We are seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Technician I for a supportive residential community in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood. This position combines apartment-turnover preparation, common-area cleaning, painting, grounds work, snow removal, and basic repairs.
The schedule is approximately 20 hours per week and can be arranged between the selected candidate and hiring manager.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Clean hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, restrooms, activity areas, offices, and lobby spaces
- Deep-clean vacant apartments during turnovers
- Complete minor painting and touch-up work
- Fill small drywall holes and repair minor surface damage
- Perform basic plumbing maintenance and repairs
- Assist a senior technician with work orders and routine maintenance
- Operate cleaning equipment safely
- Report mechanical failures and safety hazards
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and secure
- Maintain outdoor areas and pick up litter
- Shovel or blow snow from walkways and parking areas
- Provide respectful service to residents and coworkers
THIS COULD BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU
- Have maintenance, housekeeping, painting, turnover, handyman, or residential repair experience
- Enjoy a combination of cleaning and basic repair work
- Can work independently after receiving instructions
- Take attendance and communication seriously
- Are comfortable working around older adults
- Want a flexible part-time schedule
QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination
- Basic plumbing, painting, cleaning, and repair knowledge
- Basic computer and email skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to use a step ladder and work while standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, or reaching
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance when appropriate
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
COMPENSATION AND PART-TIME BENEFITS
- $18–$20 per hour based on relevant experience and internal equity
- $1,000 sign-on bonus paid at designated intervals during the first year
