The Opportunity:
Illuminate Technologies (ILT) is seeking a Data Engineer to support a federal customer engagement. You will carry out the engineering work that delivers an advanced visual analytic application: one that supports bulk analysis of relational information and produces manageable, actionable intelligence from streams of structured and semi-structured data.
The role combines application-facing data analytics with enterprise database engineering. You will design and build large relational databases, set the standards they operate under, and integrate new systems into the existing warehouse, working alongside AI engineers, data architects, and analysts to make sure the data the mission relies on is complete, traceable, and secure.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out engineering tasks to deliver an advanced visual analytic application, including developing data analytics for desktop and web-based visual analytic software.
• Facilitate the bulk analysis of relational information using advanced graphics, visualization, and high-performance computing.
• Build and integrate capabilities using the specified open-source, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) technologies.
• Establish data processing that turns streams of structured and semi-structured data into manageable, actionable intelligence.
• Design strategies for enterprise database systems and set standards for operations, programming, and security.
• Design and construct large relational databases.
• Integrate new systems with the existing data warehouse structure, and refine system performance and functionality.
• Maintain data provenance and lineage so that analytic output can be traced back to its source data.
• Deliver within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) release train, maintaining existing systems while delivering new features, including participation in PI Planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum 8 years of experience performing the duties described above.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Demonstrated experience designing and constructing large relational databases and enterprise database systems.
• Experience developing data analytics for desktop or web-based visual analytic applications.
• Experience processing and integrating streams of structured and semi-structured data at scale.
• Experience integrating new systems with existing data warehouse structures and tuning system performance.
• Experience defining and applying operations, programming, and security standards for database systems.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language used for data engineering, such as Python.
• Experience working with open-source, COTS, and GOTS technologies.
Preferred:
• Experience with high-performance computing and visualization of large relational or graph datasets.
• Experience with search and analytics engines such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, or with vector and graph databases.
• Experience building data provenance and lineage tracking.
• Experience implementing attribute-based access control (ABAC) or working with cross-domain solutions.
• Experience with containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience working on Agile or SAFe teams.
• Experience supporting federal law enforcement, intelligence, or national security missions.
• Relevant certifications in data engineering, database administration, or cloud technologies.
Eligibility Requirements:
• United States citizenship. The contract requires every person associated with it to be a United States citizen, with no part of the work exempt.
• Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). For work performed at a government facility, the clearance must be active and transferable before assignment to the work.
• Subject to routine criminal and credit checks, which the contract requires of all contractor personnel.

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. At Illuminate Technologies, you will receive comprehensive benefits such as healthcare, retirement, and time off benefits.
The proposed salary range for this position is: $105,000 – $150,000
