Data Analyst
Columbus, OH Area (Onsite)
6 Months Contract to Hire

A Fortune 500 Company is looking for a Data Engineer for their Columbus, OH area location. This role is contract to direct hire. The contract period is 6 months. This supports a team whose data analysis supports physical products NOT software or insurance. A background in supporting a physical product is required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Application Support & Enhancement
o Design, develop , test, and deploy quality management applications; troubleshoot minor to moderate issues and escalate complex problems.
•BI Dashboard Development & Reporting
o Build and maintain basic dashboards (Power BI/Tableau) for quality metrics (FPY, defect counts, SPC charts).
o Ensure data accuracy and visualization consistency under supervision.
•Data Integration Assistance
o Support ETL processes and data validation between quality systems; document workflows and learn integration standards.
•Quality Analytics & Documentation
o Prepare reports for warranty claims, VOC trends, and quality KPIs; maintain clear documentation for dashboards and processes.
•Security & Compliance Support
o Follow established security protocols, and audit requirements; assist in monitoring and incident reporting.
•Learning & Collaboration
o Participate in training, shadow senior engineers, and contribute to Agile ceremonies; continuously develop technical and business knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Educational Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Data Analytics Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, or Engineering with strong engineering aptitude or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience
0-6 years of education or 3 months of Co-op experience in analytical or information analysis
Other Job-Specific Skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (Design thinking etc)
Strong communication skills (written, verbal and visual)
Prioritization skills to manage workload and make sound decisions
Proficient using query languages such as SQL
Excellent attention to detail
Experienced in Microsoft Products
Experienced using common data science toolkits such as R & Python
Knowledge of data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques (desired)
Business intelligence (Qlikview, Power BI) programming experience (desired)
Applied statistics skills such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc. (desired)
