Location: Grand Prairie, TX
Pay: $83.70/hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 4x10 Work Schedule
Job Type: Contract (12 Months)

Position Overview

USPRO is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to support the design, commissioning, and optimization of facility systems with a focus on HVAC, mechanical systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS). This role combines engineering design expertise with hands-on system validation to deliver complete facility solutions from initial planning through final performance verification.

The ideal candidate has experience developing HVAC designs, managing facility engineering projects, and supporting BMS controls in complex commercial, industrial, or government environments.

Military technical experience may be considered in lieu of certain traditional qualifications where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and oversee the modification, maintenance, and improvement of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

  • Develop engineering solutions for HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and facility operations.

  • Perform heating and cooling load calculations and support system design development.

  • Develop engineering packages, including design documentation, specifications, and system requirements.

  • Program and validate Building Management System (BMS) sequences of operation.

  • Support system commissioning activities and verify final equipment and system performance.

  • Review facility specifications, project requirements, timelines, and construction feasibility.

  • Coordinate with architecture and engineering teams to develop design criteria, layouts, and technical documentation.

  • Prepare and review cost estimates related to equipment, installation, labor, materials, and facility improvements.

  • Inspect or support inspections of construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues and improve facility performance.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with emphasis on HVAC design.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS).

  • Experience developing complete engineering packages, including:

    • Heating and cooling load calculations

    • HVAC system design documentation

    • Sequences of operation

    • System commissioning and performance validation

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, facility operations, and engineering design processes.

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting industrial, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or government facilities.

  • Experience with facility commissioning and startup activities.

  • Familiarity with construction processes, contractor coordination, and facility modifications.

  • Strong technical documentation and project coordination skills.

  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
