Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Madison, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time (Direct Hire)
Compensation: $50,000–$70,000 annually, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7 AM - 3 PM | No Nights
Work Environment: Field-Based | Residential Properties Throughout the Madison Area
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a growing residential property management company to hire an experienced Maintenance Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving maintenance challenges, and providing exceptional service across a portfolio of residential homes and apartment communities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in residential property maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive property management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform interior and exterior maintenance, repairs, and property improvements
- Complete apartment and home turnovers, including painting, drywall repair, and unit preparation
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance issues
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure properties remain safe and well maintained
- Complete work orders accurately and maintain detailed service documentation
- Track materials, receipts, and hours worked
- Coordinate daily priorities with the property management and maintenance teams
- Provide professional and courteous service while interacting with residents and property owners
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in residential property maintenance or general building maintenance
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
Preferred:
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general construction
- Technical training, certifications, or trade experience
- Experience working in apartment communities or single-family residential properties
