Overview: Our client, a growing property management organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join a collaborative team. This hybrid role offers a mix of in-office and remote work.


Position Summary: Responsible for managing the financial operations of a portfolio of condominium and HOA properties. This role requires strong accounting skills, organization, and experience with AppFolio. Ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of properties
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and cash flow reports
  • Reconcile bank, reserve, and general ledger accounts
  • Oversee accounts payable and support accounts receivable processes
  • Monitor collections and assist with delinquency reporting
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual budget preparation
  • Prepare year-end financials and assist with audits and tax reporting
  • Record journal entries and accruals
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure GAAP compliance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients on financial matters
  • Utilize AppFolio for accounting, reporting, and workflow management
  • Assist with process improvements and special projects

Core Requirements:

  • AppFolio experience (required)
  • HOA/property management accounting experience
  • 2–3+ years of accounting experience + relevant degree (or equivalent)
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines independently

Nice to Have;

  • Real estate/HOA accounting, budgeting, or reserve accounting experience
  • Exposure to association boards
  • CPA (or in progress)
