Position: Escort Security Officer
Location: Reno, NV, USA
Reports To: Supervisor/Operations Manager
Job Summary
SSM Inc. is looking for a reliable and responsible Escort Security Officer to escort commercial trucks and vehicles safely from one location to another. The officer will help protect the driver, vehicle, and cargo while following all safety and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort trucks and vehicles from pickup to delivery locations.
- Drive safely and follow all traffic laws and assigned routes.
- Arrive on time and be ready for the scheduled assignment.
- Maintain communication with drivers, dispatch, supervisors, and clients.
- Monitor the vehicle and report any suspicious activity, delays, accidents, or other issues.
- Assist with security during authorized stops, fuel stops, and breaks.
- Complete daily activity reports and incident reports when required.
- Maintain a written log of daily activity reports on shift basis.
- Follow SSM Inc. and client security procedures.
- Use GPS, phone, and required security applications.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Protect confidential shipment and customer information.
- Be available for long distance, overnight, weekend, and extended hour assignments when needed.
- Any other duties assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Valid California Guard Card (BSIS) or required security license.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Clean and acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to drive for extended periods and travel as required.
- Good communication and basic report-writing skills.
- Ability to use a smartphone, GPS, email, and security apps.
- Must pass required background screening.
- Must be dependable, punctual, alert, and able to work independently.
- Previous security, transportation, and trucking, experience is preferred but not required.
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to stand and walk when required.
- Ability to work outdoors and in different weather conditions.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.
