We are seeking a hands-on Quality Assurance Manager (MRO Inspection) with aviation repair experience to join our awesome team! This role consolidates leadership, quality control, and compliance management: team supervision, quality audits, manuals, and operational support. Job Responsibilities:

Reports Directly to the President of Repairtech International.

  • Manage Team: Coach/mentor direct reports, inspectors, quality analysts, and the NDT department including performance reviews, merit increases and performance management.
  • Quality & Document Control: Reviews, signs, and audits work routers, repair packages, and FAA Form 8130-3 shipment documents for complete accuracy.
  • Audit Management: Conducts annual internal, product, and job audits alongside scheduled external supplier audits and corrective action responses.
  • Technical & NDT Oversight: Acts as the NDT Level II and Level III contact, approves technical sheets, and reviews brazing applications.
  • Part Inspection & Testing: Inspects supplier parts, performs hardness testing, operates a Profilometer, and uses a CMM for inspections.
  • Compliance & Environmental: Serves as the main contact for CERS environmental reporting, manages shelf life, and reviews military parts with DCMA representatives. FAA/EASA Part 145, OEM, NADCAP, (CAPA), CAAC, CASE, AS9100/9110 requirements & audits. Serve as FAA Drug & Alcohol Program Designated Employer Representative (DER).
  • Maintenance & Equipment: Tracks and determines equipment preventative maintenance schedules and logs.
  • Warranty & Non-Conformance: Manages the warranty program, logs claims, and creates internal/external non-conformance reports.
  • Supplier Quality: Obtains corrected supplier certifications and verifies that supplier audits run on schedule.
  • Facility Programs: Facilitates 5S training, tracks logs, and manages scheduled vision exams for appropriate personnel.

Requirements:

  • Must add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Certified Level 1 NDT auditor and/or ability to become certified.
  • Word, Excel, ERP System or experience with in-house database system.
  • Ability to read and apply precision measuring instrument to blue print requirements.
  • Possess good inter personal and motivational skills.
  • Prepare layouts, including prototype work.
  • Meet production schedules and deadlines on time.
  • Contribute to methods improvement program.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, or related field or in lieu of a degree, 4 years minimum experience working as an engineer in the relevant field.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and inspection processes, including in-process inspection and dimensional inspection.
  • 10-15 years experience in Quality environment with 5 years as a supervisor or manager in machining techniques and manufacturing.
  • 3 to 5 years lean manufacturing with ability to implement conceptual ideas to the shop floor.
  • FAA Certified Repair.
