If you’ve cleaned windows before, you know the difference between a company that rushes and one that takes pride in the work. Elbow Grease is the second kind. We’re looking for an experienced window cleaner who wants better pay, better equipment, and a real path to lead.
A day with us
You meet your partner, check the truck, and test the day’s water. It has to read under 15 ppm before we leave. First stop is a two-story home in Carlsbad. You introduce yourself, walk the house with the homeowner, and confirm the price before starting. Screens come out, the purified-water pole goes up, and every pane, track and sill gets done right. Before you leave, you walk the finished job with the homeowner, then text the next customer that you’re on the way.
What you’ll earn
- Performance pay (not hourly): 30-32% of every job you complete solo, 17–19% on a two-person crew
- Plus 10% of any extra service you upsell
- Typical earnings once up to speed: $24-30+ per hour pace
- Experienced techs move off training pay ($20 an hour) and onto performance pay faster
- Every hour paid at least minimum wage
- Mileage reimbursed when you drive your own vehicle for work

About us
Daniel Romero started Elbow Grease in March 2020 during the Pandemic with his squeegees, taking Uber and Lyft to every job. Today we’re a North County team with more than 350+ five-star Google reviews, known for the details: screens, tracks, sills and a final walk-around on every job.
What we’re looking for
- Window cleaning experience preferred. A year or more is ideal, but even one season of window cleaning, pressure washing, solar panel cleaning or exterior home service counts
- Valid California driver’s license
- Comfortable on ladders and at second-story height
- Able to lift about 50 lb and work outdoors in heat and sun
- Shows up on time, takes pride in details, and is open to learning our methods
Big pluses
- Experience with water-fed pole systems
- Comfortable on 28–32 ft extension ladders for three-story homes
