Position Highlights
\n
• Title: Application Engineer – Industrial/Electrical
\n
• Full Time: Direct Hire
\n
• Location: Charlotte, NC Area – Remote/Field Based
\n
• Travel: Approximately 50–75% to customer facilities, trade shows, and R&D locations throughout the U.S. and Canada
\n
• Highly technical, customer-facing position combining electrical engineering, industrial automation, testing, and hands-on field applications
\n
Background Requirements
\n
• 5–7 years of hands-on field, applications, electrical, controls, automation, or test engineering experience.
\n
• 2- or 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation/Controls, Mechatronics, or related STEM discipline.
\n
• Strong understanding of 3-phase electrical circuits and industrial electrical systems.
\n
• Experience with signal conditioning, high-voltage transducers, current clamps, Rogowski coils, encoders, and sensor signals.
\n
• Hands-on experience with VFDs and PLCs, including Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms.
\n
• Knowledge of industrial communication architectures such as CAN, Modbus, OPC UA, and EtherCAT.
\n
• Experience troubleshooting and setting up instrumentation within manufacturing, industrial, or test-cell environments.
\n
• Comfortable working directly with customers and explaining complex technical concepts.
\n
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
\n
Job Responsibilities
\n
• Serve as a technical expert supporting industrial automation, electrical testing, and measurement applications.
\n
• Work directly with automation engineers, system integrators, and OEM engineering teams to understand complex testing requirements.
\n
• Configure multi-channel Data Acquisition systems for VFD efficiency, motor testing, transient logging, and dynamic signal analysis.
\n
• Conduct hands-on customer demonstrations and proof-of-concept testing.
\n
• Connect measurement equipment directly to VFDs, PLCs, encoders, sensors, and electrical systems in real-world industrial environments.
\n
• Integrate high-speed data acquisition with plant-floor automation and control systems.
\n
• Help customers diagnose electrical, controls, and signal-related challenges.
\n
• Partner with regional Sales teams as the primary technical resource during demonstrations, technical evaluations, and customer training.
\n
• Support customers through equipment selection, configuration, testing, and implementation.
\n
• Communicate customer and application feedback to Product Development and R&D teams to help influence future hardware and software capabilities.
\n
