Position Summary
The Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager is responsible for leading food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance programs within the facility. This role oversees Quality Assurance and Sanitation operations and ensures compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, BRC, and other food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain food safety and quality programs.
- Lead HACCP, SQF, and BRC certification efforts.
- Supervise Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
- Oversee quality testing, audits, inspections, and product evaluations.
- Coordinate food safety training for employees.
- Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Manage plant recall and traceability programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, Food Chemistry, or related field.
- 6+ years of Quality Assurance experience in food manufacturing.
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- HACCP program development and maintenance experience required.
- SQF and/or BRC certification experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work around food allergens, varying temperatures, and production equipment.
- Flexible schedule as business needs require.
