Job DescriptionAbout the Role The Optiminds Inc. is seeking an experienced Scheduler IV to support complex capital construction projects through advanced planning, scheduling, and project controls services. This senior-level position is ideal for a scheduling professional with extensive experience developing, analyzing, and maintaining project schedules throughout the design and construction lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive project schedules from planning through project closeout.

  • Prepare baseline schedules, recovery schedules, and schedule updates for multiple concurrent projects.

  • Analyze project progress and identify potential delays, impacts, and schedule risks.

  • Review contractor and consultant schedules for compliance with project requirements and industry best practices.

  • Perform critical path analyses and provide recommendations to mitigate schedule impacts.

  • Evaluate delay claims, time extension requests, and schedule recovery plans.

  • Generate schedule reports, narratives, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.

  • Coordinate with project managers, design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy.

  • Monitor project milestones and provide forecasting of key completion dates.

  • Support project controls efforts through schedule integration, resource loading, and performance tracking.

  • Conduct schedule risk assessments and recommend corrective actions to maintain project objectives.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction scheduling and project controls.

  • Extensive experience with large-scale building, infrastructure, modernization, or public works projects.

  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and validating contractor schedules.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling methodologies, and project delivery systems.

  • Ability to independently perform schedule analysis, delay assessments, and forecasting activities.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience performing Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Critical Path Method (CPM), and earned value reporting.
  • Familiarity with design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • PMI-SP, PMP, AACE, PSP, or other relevant scheduling certifications are highly desirable.
