Location: Aurora, Colorado

Work Arrangement: Onsite (Contractor Facility)

Contract: Long-Term Contract with Potential to Extend or Convert

Schedule: First Shift | 40 Hours per Week | 5/40 Schedule

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI Required

Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Required


A leading aerospace and defense contractor is seeking an experienced Principal Database Engineer (Database Administrator) to support a mission-critical classified program. This position is responsible for administering, maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise databases supporting high-priority infrastructure and software systems.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior DBA who enjoys working in secure environments supporting mission-focused applications and critical infrastructure.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Pay Range: $103.50 - $121.75/hr

Responsibilities

  • Administer enterprise databases supporting classified software systems
  • Install, configure, patch and maintain database environments
  • Monitor database performance and availability
  • Optimize database performance through tuning and indexing
  • Perform backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning
  • Implement database security and access controls
  • Support software developers with database design and troubleshooting
  • Monitor storage utilization and capacity planning
  • Resolve database incidents and performance issues
  • Support production infrastructure supporting critical mission systems
  • Participate in system upgrades and technology refresh efforts
  • Maintain documentation and configuration management
  • Support audits and compliance activities

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Senior-level Database Administration experience
  • Experience administering enterprise relational databases
  • Database backup and recovery experience
  • Database performance tuning experience
  • Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows Server environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience supporting production environments
