Department Summary:
The Shop Custodian performs a variety of duties and multiple uses of different skill sets. Shop Custodians are required to follow directions carefully, have basic mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks. Incumbent may have experience in composite fabrication, manufacturing/assembly, marine industry or building trades.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Attention to detail and quality is required.
- Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads
- Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices.
- Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function.
- Properly executes hazardous material disposal activities.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition.
- Knowledge of common hand tools.
- Performs on the job training, AS9100 training and other training as required.
- Organizes tools to 5S standards.
- Maintains broom stations, rag disposal.
- Maintains floor, trash cans, pallet, cord organization, manage full dumpsters.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must be able to work independently and at a fast pace, climb stairs while carrying a vacuum and supplies, and have the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must have 3 months to 1 year experience in related field.
- Must be able to follow detailed verbal and written directions, meet deadlines, and operate as a team member.
- Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
- Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance role
Shift Availability:
- Day Shift - no differential - Hours: 5:00a – 3:30p, Monday-Thursday
- Weekend Shift - $3.00/hour shift differential - Hours: 5:00a – 5:30p, Friday-Sunday
- Swing Shift - $2.00/hour shift differential - Hours: 3:30p - 2:00a, Monday-Thursday
Detailed Wage Information
Wage range for this role is between $20 - $24 per hour, plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
