Real Estate Finance Associate – Washington, DC

\n

A well-established Am Law 200 firm is seeking a Real Estate Finance Associate to join its transactional practice in Washington, DC. This is an opportunity for an attorney with at least two years of relevant experience to work on sophisticated real estate and financing transactions for developers, lenders, investors, and other institutional clients.

\n

The position will involve a combination of traditional commercial real estate work and finance transactions, with opportunities to gain exposure to public finance matters.

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Represent developers and other commercial clients in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and related transactions
  • \n

  • Advise financial institutions and lenders on real estate-secured financing and commercial lending transactions
  • \n

  • Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, financing documents, and other transactional agreements
  • \n

  • Conduct and manage transactional due diligence, including title and survey review
  • \n

  • Work closely with partners on sophisticated real estate development and financing matters
  • \n

  • Assist with the structuring and closing of complex transactions
  • \n

  • Support public finance matters involving municipal bond financing for development, infrastructure, nonprofit, and public-private projects
  • \n

  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, borrowers, and other transaction parties throughout the deal lifecycle
  • \n

Candidate Profile

\n

The successful candidate will have:

\n

    \n
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate, real estate finance, or a closely related transactional practice
  • \n

  • Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, and/or real estate finance
  • \n

  • Exposure to lender-side commercial finance transactions is particularly valuable
  • \n

  • Public finance experience is advantageous but not required
  • \n

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and due diligence skills
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • \n

  • Strong academic credentials
  • \n

  • The ability to manage responsibilities independently while working effectively as part of a transactional team
  • \n

  • A J.D. from an accredited law school
  • \n

  • Appropriate Bar admission or eligibility to waive into the relevant jurisdiction
  • \n

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $190,000+ per year
