Job Title: Machine Assembler
Job Description
This role supports a cell therapy manufacturing facility by installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting process equipment in a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. You will ensure equipment reliability, support compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep critical manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assemble custom machinery and automation equipment based on mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Perform mechanical assembly including frames, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and structural components
- Install and wire electrical systems including panels, sensors, motors, VFDs, switches, and control components
- Route and terminate wiring, including point-to-point wiring and panel builds
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation to complete builds accurately
- Install pneumatic and hydraulic systems including valves, tubing, and cylinders
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of mechanical and electrical issues
- Assist with machine startup, commissioning, and run-off testing
- Modify and rework components as needed to meet specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on improvements and troubleshooting
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing environment, preferably in cell therapy or biopharmaceuticals.
- Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician working with manufacturing or process equipment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical documents, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Basic understanding of GMP regulations and quality standards.
- Experience serving as a technical or service lead on multi-subsystem installations and qualifications.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills suitable for a regulated environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs as part of routine job duties.
- Ability to work a full-time 40-hour workweek, including weekends and holidays as required to support business needs.
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with electrical systems, including reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and related components used in manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills to explain technical issues and solutions clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing setting.

Work Environment
This position is based in a GMP-regulated cell therapy manufacturing facility, working directly with complex process and manufacturing equipment. You will operate in a highly controlled environment that emphasizes safety, documentation, and adherence to procedures. The role requires full-time, 40-hour workweeks, with flexibility to work weekends and holidays as business needs arise; training will be conducted on the day shift. Regular on-site attendance is essential, and you will frequently use calibrated tools, test equipment, and industrial systems including electrical, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment. The facility environment is structured, process-driven, and focused on maintaining reliable, compliant operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
