Fiber Splicer
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer to splice, test, troubleshoot, and maintain aerial and underground fiber optic networks.
Responsibilities
- Perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber.
- Read fiber prints, splice diagrams, and network documentation.
- Troubleshoot outages and repair damaged fiber cable.
- Test and document fiber using OTDRs and power meters.
- Work safely in manholes, handholes, aerial lifts, and construction zones.
- Maintain accurate job records and communicate with supervisors and customers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of fiber optic splicing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction.
- Experience with OTDR testing, power meters, and fiber documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and emergency restoration as needed.
- Ability to lift equipment and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Bucket truck and safety procedure experience is a plus.
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Confined Space Training
- Bucket Truck / Aerial Lift Certification
- Traffic Control / Flagger Certification
