Daybreak Metro is a successful, established repossession company operating throughout California, with an in-house locksmith service supporting our internal operations. We're looking for a motivated individual to apprentice under a licensed locksmith and build a long-term, hands-on trade skill — no experience necessary.
About the Role
You'll train directly under our licensed locksmith, working out of our San Jose base and riding along to yards across the greater Bay Area, including San Jose, Newark, Richmond, and Benicia. Our mobile key van is outfitted with the latest key-cutting machines and programming software, giving you real, current-generation tools to learn on from day one.
This is outdoor, hands-on work with a variety of vehicles — you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions and getting a little dirty. In return, you'll get paid, structured training toward a California Locksmith license and a stable, long-term role with a growing company.
What You'll Do
- Apprentice under a licensed locksmith on live jobs across Bay Area locations
- Learn key cutting, automotive key programming, and lock servicing on various vehicles
- Receive on-the-job training in advanced locksmith and key programming techniques
- Travel between yards as part of a mobile key van team
What We're Looking For
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to learning a skilled trade
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work
- Own cell phone
- 23 years of age or older (insurance requirement)
- Able to pass a drug screening
- Current California Locksmith license, or eligibility to obtain one through the State of California
Schedule & Pay
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
- $20–$22/hour
- Paid training — no experience required
