A nationally recognized entertainment streaming company is seeking a Senior Roku Engineer to join its growing team in a Hybrid role. The qualified professional selected for this role can either work out of their company's Los Angeles, California or Stamford, Connecticut office. OR in NYC

\n

About the Opportunity:

\n

• Shift: Day

\n

• Schedule: Monday to Friday

\n

• Hours: Standard business

\n

• Setting: Hybrid (at least 4 days a week onsite)

\n

• Locations: Stamford, Connecticut or Los Angeles, California

\n


\n

Responsibilities:

\n

• Design, build, and maintain Roku application features using BrightScript and SceneGraph

\n

• Refactor tightly coupled code to improve architecture, maintainability, and scalability

\n

• Integrate and troubleshoot APIs, authentication flows, playback functionality, and multiple user screens

\n

• Support production issues and collaborate with engineering partners to deliver durable fixes

\n

• Work closely with the team to communicate technical decisions clearly and contribute to clean, well-factored code

\n

Qualifications:

\n

• At least 3 years of hands-on Roku development experience with BrightScript and SceneGraph

\n

• Experience building production Roku applications that include authentication, APIs, playback integration, and multiple screens or user flows

\n

• Strong understanding of software architecture, clean code principles, separation of concerns, and refactoring

\n

• Experience integrating RESTful APIs into application workflows

\n

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

\n

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, onsite team environment

\n

Desired Skills:

\n

• Experience with streaming playback concepts, HLS, DASH, adaptive bitrate behavior, and DRM

\n

• Familiarity with JavaScript or TypeScript for internal tooling and automation

\n

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release automation

\n

• Exposure to Roku platform integrations, such as deep linking, search feeds, continue watching, Roku Pay, or advertising frameworks

\n

• Experience debugging production issues using Roku developer tools, profiling tools, or telemetry dashboards

\n

• Background with other living-room or connected TV platforms
