Position Details
• Position: Per Diem Paraprofessional
• Location: Providence, Smithfield, and Warwick, RI
• Pay: $22.00 per hour
• Schedule: Flexible per diem opportunities available Monday–Friday during school hours (typically 8:15 a.m.–3:30 p.m.)
What You'll Do
• Provide direct classroom support to students with autism and other developmental disabilities.
• Assist teachers with classroom instruction, daily activities, and student engagement.
• Implement evidence-based behavior support plans and intervention strategies.
• Support students in developing academic, communication, social-emotional, and daily living skills.
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence, confidence, and success.
• Collaborate with teachers and multidisciplinary team members to support each student's individualized goals.
What We're Looking For
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working as a paraprofessional, in special education, or in an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) setting.
• Previous school-based experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and student-centered approach.
• Ability to adapt to diverse student and classroom needs.
• Reliable, flexible, and collaborative team player.
• CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certifications are preferred (training is available upon hire).
