Key responsibilities

  • Testing: Perform hydrostatic (water) or pneumatic (air) pressure tests on various systems and components.
  • Preparation: Install fittings to seal outlets, connect systems to pressure lines, and prepare equipment for testing according to specifications.
  • Pressure monitoring: Operate air compressors or water pumps to pressurize systems and carefully monitor pressure gauges for any loss.
  • Leak detection: Visually inspect objects for escaping air or water, sometimes using a soap solution to help pinpoint leaks.
  • Documentation: Record test results and report findings to management or quality assurance departments.
  • Repair identification: Mark the source of any leaks for subsequent repair.
