About the Opportunity
A leading, long-standing plastics manufacturing company in South Houston is seeking a hands-on IT Administrator to join their team. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and securing the company's core technology infrastructure across their primary office and nearby production facility.
This is a direct-hire position on a close-knit, highly collaborative team known for exceptional tenure and stability.
Key Responsibilities

  • Server & Systems Management: Administer and maintain Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and Ubuntu Server environments. Manage Dell server hardware, routine firmware updates, and hardware lifecycles.
  • Cloud & Identity: Oversee Microsoft 365, Entra ID Sync, Intune, Exchange, and related services. Support end-users with core M365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel).
  • Network Infrastructure: Configure and maintain Cisco and Netgear switches, including VLAN setup and network segmentation. Support SD-WAN solutions and IP telephony systems.
  • Security & Remote Access: Manage Remote Desktop Services (RDS) and Remote Access Services utilizing Multi-Factor Authentication (Duo MFA). Maintain IP-based camera surveillance systems for physical site security.
  • Database & Web Maintenance: Maintain and update internal web applications built with PHP and MySQL/SQL Server. Perform basic SQL Server administration and support.
  • Data Protection: Administer Barracuda Backup solutions for disaster recovery, data protection, and NAS (Network Attached Storage) systems.
  • End-User Support & Maintenance: Provide high-touch support for local and remote end-users. Travel locally down the road (15 minutes away) to the nearby manufacturing plant on an as-needed basis for physical hardware/network service (10% travel or less).

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive, hands-on IT infrastructure experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Networking & Hardware: Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, VLAN configuration (Cisco/Netgear), Dell servers, SD-WAN, and IP phone systems.
  • Microsoft Ecosystem: Proficiency in M365 administration, Entra ID Sync, Intune, and Windows Server (2019+).
  • Software Development: Practical experience with PHP and MySQL or SQL Server for maintaining internal web applications.
  • Backup & Storage: Hands-on experience managing Barracuda Backup solutions and NAS devices.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, direct end-user communication abilities, and the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility: Dependable attendance with willingness to accommodate occasional non-standard hours for system updates or urgent maintenance.
