Position Summary

As a Security Officer with Civil Security Solutions, you will play a vital role in protecting client property, employees, visitors, and the general public. Security Officers are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by conducting routine patrols, monitoring access points, documenting incidents, enforcing site policies, and providing exceptional customer service. Successful candidates are dependable, observant, professional, and able to respond calmly and effectively in a variety of situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly patrols of assigned properties to identify safety and security concerns.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, patrol logs, and incident reports using Vision Insights.
• Greet employees, visitors, vendors, clients, and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Open, secure, and monitor gates, doors, and other access points according to site schedules and client requirements.
• Arm and disarm alarm systems as required by site procedures.
• Monitor and manage parking lots to maintain safety, proper traffic flow, and compliance with site policies.
• Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, alarms, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance.
• Observe, document, and report security incidents, hazards, safety concerns, and maintenance issues.
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity and promote a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, emergency responders, and law enforcement when appropriate.
• Operate site-specific equipment, including radios, telephones, security systems, golf carts, and access control systems, as required.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance and report to assigned shifts on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the safety and security of the client site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card.
• Powers to Arrest Training Certificate.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance, demeanor, and sound judgment.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work independently while exercising good judgment.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
• Basic computer and smartphone proficiency for report writing and communication.
• Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record may be required depending on the assignment.
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and meet all client-specific hiring requirements.

Work Environment

• Indoor and outdoor work environments with exposure to varying weather conditions.
• Frequent standing, walking, and routine patrols throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
• Fast-paced environment requiring professionalism, vigilance, and excellent customer service.
• Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts based on client needs.
