A well-established architecture and design practice is seeking a Senior Project Architect to join its San Diego team. This is an opportunity for a California-licensed Architect with 10+ years of experience to take on a senior technical and design leadership role across complex projects while mentoring teams and supporting project delivery.

The Role

The Senior Project Architect will lead the technical and design development of multiple projects, working closely with Principals, Project Managers, designers, consultants, and clients. The role will focus on technical oversight, documentation, consultant coordination, quality control, and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Lead technical and design development on complex projects
  • \n

  • Mentor and guide project teams and junior staff
  • \n

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and project stakeholders
  • \n

  • Develop and review construction documents, specifications, and details
  • \n

  • Ensure projects meet design intent, codes, and quality standards
  • \n

  • Lead technical problem-solving and quality control
  • \n

  • Coordinate permitting and regulatory requirements
  • \n

  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and site visits
  • \n

  • Oversee RFIs, change orders, revisions, and construction administration
  • \n

  • Support project close-out and delivery
  • \n

  • Contribute to staffing, scheduling, marketing, and professional initiatives
  • \n

Requirements:

\n

    \n
  • 10+ years of professional architecture experience
  • \n

  • 5+ years as a Project Architect
  • \n

  • Active architecture license; California license preferred
  • \n

  • Strong experience with complex projects from design through construction
  • \n

  • Extensive documentation and construction administration experience
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, materials, and construction
  • \n

  • Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
  • \n

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino or SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
  • \n

  • Rendering software experience is a plus
  • \n
