Job DescriptionInfrastructure Cable Technician Location: Pensacola, FL (onsite) Pay Rate: Open to Both C2C and W2 options Position Type: Contract Position Summary Coordinates, monitors, administers, and services technical environments. Completes implementations, performs integration activities, and provides operational support for technical environments. Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble and arrange materials and equipment.
- Review and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, requirements, and installation instructions.
- Run, pull, terminate, and splice copper and fiber-optic cabling, including CAT5, CAT6, low-voltage, and fiber-optic cable.
- Install and mount telecommunications equipment in accordance with industry standards, manufacturer requirements, and established best practices.
- Install and support network infrastructure components, including routers, hubs, switches, racks, ladder racks, and J-hooks.
- Install access-control systems, surveillance cameras, wireless access points, and related devices.
- Select and verify cable pathways.
- Conduct site surveys.
- Assist with designing, developing, and implementing cabling standards and specifications.
- Oversee cabling projects performed by third-party contractors.
- Maintain documentation related to the cabling infrastructure.
- Install cable-support systems and pull network cabling through approved pathways.
- Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber-optic cable installations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience performing cable-infrastructure installation services.
- Familiarity with BICSI standards, cabling standards, and related certifications.
- Experience installing and supporting structured cabling systems in enterprise environments.
