Job DescriptionLevel 3 On-Site Support Technician
This is an temporary coverage position with the potential to be extended.
We are seeking a Level 3 On-Site Support Technician to provide advanced, hands-on technical support for end users in a fast-paced environment. This position will focus on desktop support, hardware and software troubleshooting, escalated technical issues, and delivering a strong customer experience.
The ideal candidate will have a solid desktop support experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while also serving as an escalation point and resource for other technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on desktop support for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network connectivity, and application issues.
- Serve as an escalation point for more complex end-user support issues.
- Support Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain hardware and software.
- Support device imaging, deployment, and workstation setup.
- Work with Active Directory for user and device support.
- Use ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems to document, track, and resolve support requests.
- Support Intune and Autopilot within the desktop environment.
- Use PowerShell and other diagnostic tools to assist with troubleshooting.
- Assist with software deployments, upgrades, and technology rollouts.
- Perform hardware break/fix support and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot basic TCP/IP, network connectivity, and related infrastructure issues.
- Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and technical procedures.
- Communicate status and expectations clearly with end users and internal teams.
- Follow established SLAs and escalation procedures.
- Assist with higher-volume help desk support when required.
- Provide guidance and support to junior technicians and help onboard new team members.
- Participate in projects and other technology initiatives as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on desktop support and technical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, SSDs, peripherals, and general break/fix support.
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar IT service management/ticketing tools.
- Experience with Intune and/or Autopilot.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and basic networking concepts.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Strong documentation and ticket-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a technical support team.
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
- SAP
- VMware/vSphere
- Cisco routers and switches
- Server hardware and basic server support
- SAN/NAS storage technologies
- RAID and I/O technologies
- Software deployment and imaging tools
- ITIL-based environments
Education & Certifications
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Microsoft, ITIL, networking, or related technical certifications are a plus.

Were looking for someone who is technically strong but also comfortable working directly with end users. This person should be approachable, dependable, organized, and able to explain technical issues in a clear, customer-friendly way. The role requires someone who can take ownership of problems, work through escalated issues, and follow them through to resolution.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Mount Crawford, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
