About the Company
We are partnered with a fast growing WealthTech building an AI driven investment platform designed to open up sophisticated financial strategies to a much wider audience.
The product combines intelligent portfolio construction, access to private market opportunities, and modern trading infrastructure within a single platform. Historically, tools like these were available only to ultra high net worth investors and large institutions.
The engineering team is building the data and infrastructure layer that powers this experience. Accuracy, reliability, and thoughtful system design are critical as the platform handles complex financial products and investor workflows.
The Role
This position focuses on building the infrastructure behind the company’s alternatives investment platform.
You will work closely with the Private Investments team to design and scale the systems that support private market offerings such as venture funds, private equity, and private credit.
The role sits where engineering meets investment operations and product design. You will help turn traditionally manual and opaque investment processes into structured, scalable software systems.
Rather than simply implementing predefined requirements, you will contribute to shaping how alternative investments are modeled, managed, and delivered through the platform.
What You Will Do
- Design and develop backend systems that power the alternatives platform from end to end. This includes supporting the lifecycle of private market investments such as fund onboarding, deal participation, capital calls, and distributions.
- Create scalable data models and services that support complex fund structures, investor allocations, and portfolio tracking.
- Work directly with the Private Investments team to translate investment offerings into product features that can scale across the platform.
- Build tools and workflows that support new fund launches, investor onboarding, and client reporting.
- Replace traditionally manual operational processes with structured systems and automated workflows.
- Partner with product, legal, operations, and investment professionals to translate domain heavy requirements into practical system designs.
Who You Are
- 7 to 10 years of experience building software systems with strong expertise in Python.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals with experience designing APIs, workflows, and complex data models.
- Experience building production systems that handle real world complexity and evolving requirements.
- Working familiarity with private market concepts such as venture capital, private equity, private credit, fund structures, capital calls, or investor distributions.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and collaborating closely with non engineering teams.
- Strong product awareness and interest in how technical systems translate into real user workflows.
- Based in the Bay Area or open to relocating.
