DVA Consulting is hiring for a Quality / Test Engineer – Product Support

Location: Tucson, AZ
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: First Shift – approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM MST
Contract Duration: Approximately 24 months
Travel: Up to 25%, including potential domestic and international travel

Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality / Test Engineer – Product Support to support advanced technology used in an industrial and mining environment.

This position will have a direct impact on overall product quality and the customer experience. The successful candidate will provide technical and service engineering support, including product validation, troubleshooting, investigating product issues, diagnosing software and hardware problems, and supporting continuous product improvement initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical problem-solving skills who enjoys working directly with customers, engineering teams, and technical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate product issues, defects, and performance concerns in production products.
  • Perform product validation, investigation, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of technical problems.
  • Troubleshoot and support both software and hardware issues.
  • Support Continuous Product Improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to external customers.
  • Research and test product designs, functionality, equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining quality and reliability standards.
  • Develop procedures and documentation for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Evaluate the precision and accuracy of testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
  • Collect and analyze technical data from multiple sources to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external customers to resolve technical concerns.
  • Assist with project management and coordination of technical activities.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting technology in an industrial, manufacturing, production, or similar technical environment.
  • Previous product support or service engineering experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to investigate technical problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Strong customer-service and customer-support skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.
  • Strong relationship-management and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
  • Experience with engineering-related computer applications and software.



Preferred Experience

Candidates with any of the following experience are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Product Support Consultant experience.
  • Product Support Service Engineer experience.
  • Field service or field engineering experience.
  • Mining industry experience.
  • Experience supporting complex software and hardware systems.
  • Experience with data gathering and analysis tools and techniques.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience.



Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in a standard office environment with limited field exposure. Occasional visits to above-ground mining sites may be required. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided for site visits.

Mine-site safety certification may be required for site access. Required training and certification will be provided.

The position works with a global team through a combination of virtual and in-person collaboration.

Location Requirements

This is a full-time, on-site position in Tucson, Arizona and is not a remote opportunity.

Candidates should currently live within approximately 40 miles of the Tucson work location. Candidates requiring relocation are not being considered at this time.

You should be comfortable investigating difficult technical problems, working with software and hardware, communicating with customers, analyzing data, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to develop effective solutions.

Experience working with industrial equipment, production environments, field technology, or mining-related systems is particularly valuable.
