Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Superintendent to lead and oversee the maintenance and operational functions of our facilities. This role is vital in ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. The Superintendent will manage facilities maintenance teams, coordinate repair projects, and uphold safety regulations to create a safe, productive environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader passionate about industrial maintenance and facilities management to make a significant impact.
Duties
- Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee the repair, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems including HVAC, electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage), plumbing, and other industrial equipment.
- Utilize management tools such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule work orders, track maintenance activities, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures aligned with safety regulations such as OSHA standards.
- Troubleshoot engineering issues using schematics, electrical testing tools like ohmmeters, and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
- Manage projects related to facilities upgrades or repairs, coordinating resources and timelines effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by conducting regular safety audits, training sessions, and maintaining detailed records of inspections and repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in supervising facilities maintenance teams within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, electrical systems (including high voltage and low voltage), plumbing system maintenance, and industrial equipment troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and schematics for troubleshooting automation systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for industrial maintenance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Experience managing facilities using CMMS software for work order management and asset tracking.
- Excellent leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a safety-conscious culture.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple repair or upgrade projects simultaneously.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with electrical experience including use of testing tools like ohmmeters.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing to ensure clear coordination across teams.
