Role Description The Development Associate is a contract, remote role, responsible for supporting fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This position assists with researching prospective donors, maintaining accurate donor records, and preparing reports, proposals, and correspondence. The Development Associate helps coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, supports grant-writing activities, and collaborates with program staff to gather stories and impact data. Daily tasks include communicating with donors and partners, drafting outreach materials, and contributing to strategies that grow the Center’s financial sustainability in alignment with its mission.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build relationships with donors, partners, and colleagues.

\n

• Candidates should possess solid analytical skills and research capabilities to identify prospects, interpret data, and support grant and report preparation.

\n

• Candidates should possess fundraising skills, including experience or interest in donor cultivation, event support, and campaign coordination.

\n

• Relevant skills such as organizational and time management abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency with office software and databases are beneficial.

• Experience in nonprofit development, community organizing, or social justice work, and familiarity with the principles of nonviolence, truth, and reconciliation are desirable.

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as nonprofit management, communications, social sciences, or business) or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.

\n
