Job Summary:
Custodian
Performs routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and order of County buildings. Work includes sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and restocking supplies in a variety of public facilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Clean and maintain assigned areas: Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize restrooms, offices, and hallways.
- Refill supplies and restock dispensers: Replenish paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles: Remove waste safely and transport to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows and glass surfaces: Wash and polish glass doors and windows for visibility and appearance.
- Assist with special cleaning projects: Perform deep cleaning and seasonal maintenance as scheduled.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely: Use vacuum cleaners, buffers, and other cleaning machinery per instructions.
- Respond to cleaning requests: Provide prompt cleanup services as needed.
- Maintain building security: Lock and unlock facilities and report any safety concerns.
- Ensure safety and hazard control: Follow OSHA and County safety protocols while handling chemicals.
- The individual in this role is expected to contribute to the team's efforts by completing other related tasks, as may be assigned.
