Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Elevated Hires is recruiting a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor for a manufacturing plant environment. This role leads plant maintenance activities, including scheduling, workforce supervision, repair coordination, and process improvement, while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Work directly with maintenance staff to complete daily maintenance tasks.
- Ensure HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, hydraulic, building, and equipment systems operate properly.
- Diagnose equipment and facility issues and coordinate repairs or upgrades.
- Oversee larger repair and renovation projects, including contractor coordination, bid review, work-quality monitoring, and schedule management.
- Estimate repair costs, request materials and supplies, manage spare-parts inventory, and track expenditures.
- Maintain work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports, maintenance history, and required regulatory paperwork.
- Coordinate maintenance shutdowns with production to reduce downtime.
- Ensure maintenance work complies with applicable local, state, and federal building and safety codes.
- Enforce safe work practices and support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Train staff and address employee concerns professionally and constructively.
Qualifications
- Seven or more years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience maintaining mechanical systems, production equipment, and facility structures.
- Knowledge of safety requirements and OSHA practices.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, people-management, and training skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers, office employees, and shop employees.
- Ability to understand concepts related to specially built containers.
- Forklift certification when operating a forklift.
- Lockout/tagout certification for applicable work.
- OSHA General Industry Training.
Work Environment and Safety Requirements
- Required shop attire includes safety glasses, earplugs, steel-toe boots with metatarsal protection, and a long-sleeve shirt.
- Winter boots without steel toes or metatarsal protection are permitted only for outside winter work.
