As Software Engineer Sr. within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh PA (preferred), Strongsville OH, Birmingham AL, Phoenix AZ or Dallas TX. \n

\nYou will be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions supporting enterprise database platforms. The role combines strong Oracle DBA expertise with software engineering, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, and operational excellence. \n
\n
\nThe successful candidate will lead efforts to automate database provisioning, patching, compliance validation, monitoring, reporting, vulnerability remediation, and operational processes. While Oracle technologies will represent the initial area of focus, the long term objective is to establish automation frameworks, standards, and engineering patterns that can be leveraged across all database technologies supported by Data Platform Services. \n

\nPrimary Responsibilities \n
\nAutomation Engineering \n
\nDesign and develop enterprise automation solutions for database platform operations. \n
\nBuild reusable automation frameworks and engineering patterns. \n
\nEliminate manual operational processes through automation. \n
\nDevelop automated validation, reporting, monitoring, compliance, and remediation capabilities. \n
\nMaintain code repositories, documentation, and automation standards. \n
\nIntegrate automation with enterprise tooling, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines. \n
\n
\nOracle Platform Expertise \n
\nServe as a senior Oracle DBA with deep knowledge of Oracle database administration. \n
\nSupport Oracle RAC, ASM, Multitenant, RMAN, Data Guard, Fleet Patching and Provisioning, Enterprise Manager, Exadata, and Recovery Appliance technologies. \n
\nDesign and automate database build, patching, cloning, migration, backup, recovery, and validation processes. \n
\nTroubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues. \n
\n
\nMulti Platform Database Automation \n
\nExpand automation capabilities beyond Oracle to support enterprise database platforms including: \n
\nSQL Server \n
\nPostgreSQL \n
\nMySQL \n
\nMongoDB \n
\nFuture database technologies adopted by the organization \n
\nDevelop platform agnostic engineering patterns whenever practical. \n
\nPartner with database platform engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and standardize operational workflows. \n

\nSecurity and Compliance \n
\nDevelop automation supporting vulnerability remediation initiatives. \n
\nAutomate evidence collection and compliance reporting. \n
\nImplement automated security validation capabilities. \n
\nIntegrate automation with identity, access management, and privileged access systems. \n

\nOperational Excellence \n
\nCreate dashboards, reporting solutions, and operational metrics. \n
\nImprove service reliability and consistency through automation. \n
\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and operational simplification. \n
\nReduce toil and manual effort across engineering teams. \n

\nProvide technical mentorship to engineering staff. \n

Base Salary: $86,250.00 – $172,500.00\n

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.\n
