Job Summary
The Unarmed Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding client personnel, visitors, property, and assets at assigned Metro Atlanta locations. Operating as the primary visual deterrent against unauthorized activity, the officer maintains a highly professional presence, conducts proactive safety patrols, manages access control points, and delivers exceptional customer service. This role requires rapid, level-headed emergency response and meticulous documentation of daily activities and incidents while strictly adhering to Georgia private security regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Proactive Foot & Vehicle Patrols: Conduct regular, random interior and exterior patrols of the property, warehouses, parking decks, or perimeters to identify safety hazards, maintenance issues, unsecure access points, or suspicious activity.

Access Control & Visitor Screening: Manage designated entry points, log visitors and commercial vehicles, verify employee credentials, and operate security tech systems (such as electronic gates, metal detectors, or badge scanners).

Surveillance Monitoring: Observe live Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) feeds and alarm systems to detect early signs of intrusion, fire/life safety issues, or policy violations.

De-escalation & Incident Response: Serve as a first responder to site emergencies, medical distress, fires, or verbal disturbances. Use verbal de-escalation techniques to handle non-compliant individuals calmly and professionally.

Detailed Documentation: Prepare clear, comprehensive, and legally sound Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and narrative Incident Reports via digital reporting software or logbooks.

Agency Liaison: Coordinate seamlessly with local Metro Atlanta law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical services (EMS) when immediate public safety intervention is required.
Position Requirements

Age/Legal: Must be at least 18 years of age (21+ preferred for specific commercial or government contracts) and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Licensure: Ability to obtain or maintain a valid Georgia 24-hour Unarmed Security Officer certification.

Background: Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screening.

Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, or remain on foot for extended periods, occasionally navigating stairs or outdoor terrain in all weather conditions.

Communication: Strong verbal command and written literacy to execute radio protocol and deliver professional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications

One or more years of experience in private contract security, corporate asset protection, or customer service.

Prior military service, corrections, or law enforcement background.

Active CPR / First Aid / AED certification.

Familiarity with digital access control software and modern CCTV monitoring equipment.
