Join a company with roots going back to 1971 in El Cajon, CA. In our 19,000 sq. ft. facility, a close-knit team of about 15 crafts precision components for aerospace, defense, and energy—and we’re investing in new machinery to push capability further. As our CNC Applications & Programming Lead, you’ll blend hands-on mastery with mentorship to scale quality, speed, and reliability.
Your impact (first 90 days)
- Assess: Audit current milling and turning processes, tooling libraries, and programs; spot quick wins for cycle time and quality.
- Elevate: Standardize set-ups, workholding, and inspection checkpoints; reinforce ISO 9001/AS9100 practices.
- Enable: Train machinists on programming edits, blueprint/GD&T interpretation, and best-practice safety protocols.
Core responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate 3–5 axis mills and live-tooled lathes for prototype and production parts.
- Interpret customer RFQs and deliver accurate, timely quotes with sound process plans.
- Edit G & M code at the machine to fine-tune feeds, speeds, and toolpaths.
- Select tooling/fixtures; perform daily PM; troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify conformance to drawings and tolerances.
What you’ll need to succeed
- High school diploma or machining/manufacturing technical credential.
- 10+ years on CNC mills and lathes; proven expertise in set-ups and production changeovers.
- Fluency in G-Code/M-Code; strong CNC programming skills (SurfCAM experience is a plus).
- Team-first communicator who enjoys coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Commitment to safety and disciplined shop procedures.
Schedule, perks, and pay
- 1st shift, 4x10 schedule; occasional overtime offered on Fridays.

“In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $40/hr and $50+/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.”
