Job Description
Strong in Linux? Enjoy digging into complex technical problems and figuring out what's really going on under the hood?
\n
\n
We're looking for a Senior Linux Support Engineer to troubleshoot business-critical software running in Linux environments. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who knows their way around the Linux command line, can analyze system behavior, and enjoys getting to the root cause of challenging production issues.
\n
\n
You'll support sophisticated communications software used by organizations in public safety, transportation, utilities, defense, and enterprise markets, where system reliability and performance matter.
\n
\n
Rather than focusing on routine system administration, you'll investigate issues across the Linux operating system, software applications, networking, and customer infrastructure. You'll use logs, traces, command-line tools, and network diagnostics to identify problems and help drive them to resolution.
\n
\n
Telecom experience is welcome, but strong Linux troubleshooting skills are the priority.

What You'll Do
\n
- \n
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving applications running on Linux servers in production and customer environments.
- Use Red Hat Enterprise Linux command-line tools to investigate logs, processes, services, system behavior, and application performance.
- Perform root cause analysis across the application, operating system, network, configuration, and integration layers.
- Analyze network traffic and connectivity using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Support software deployed in virtualized environments, including VMware.
- Collaborate with software engineering and technical teams to investigate challenging issues and implement solutions.
- Document technical findings, troubleshooting procedures, and recommended resolutions.
- Participate in a rotational on-call schedule after approximately six months of training.
