Join a small engineering team building AI-powered data solutions for alternative investment firms. In this customer-facing, forward-deployed role, you will combine product engineering and applied AI to turn customer needs into production software.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with asset managers and their portfolio companies to understand data challenges and develop AI-powered solutions.
• Own delivery from customer discovery through production deployment across backend, frontend, and AI systems.
• Shape customer-specific technical roadmaps and connect product decisions to business outcomes.
• Use LLMs and AI agents in your daily work, building on the team's internal AI infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the founding team in a high-autonomy environment with broad ownership.

What We're Looking For

• One to six years of software engineering experience, with interest in customer-facing applied AI work.
• Experience delivering full-stack products across backend, frontend, and AI layers, ideally in an early-stage startup environment.
• Strong Python skills and familiarity with FastAPI, Temporal, React, and production software development.
• Experience owning technical roadmaps and translating customer needs into practical technical solutions.
• Comfort working through ambiguity, managing customer relationships, and taking increasing ownership.
• A degree in computer science or a combined computer science and mathematics background.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $165,000 to $290,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

This is an on-site role in New York, United States, five days per week.
