General Description

We are seeking a highly skilled consultant to join our team as a Project Delivery Manager. The Project Delivery Manager is the single resource accountable for the developing the scope & driving the overall execution of the entire automation scope for large scale data centers. The delivery manager will oversee the design and implementation of all facets of the digital / automation scope for the project. This role may be engaged as early as the conceptual design phase of projects and will remain engaged throughout project execution. Scope areas will include building management systems (PLC & SCADA), SIS systems, IT & OT technologies and systems, and Instrumentation and Controls (I&C). The Project Delivery Manager will be supported by multiple technical leads associated with each of the various scope areas within automation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of automation and hardware engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of aspects of the automation scope of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Support the development of project schedules with the correct milestones and definition of key predecessors and successors across all disciplines
  • Drive the development of resource plans and loading curves according to overall project and equipment FAT schedules
  • Drive the development of scope estimates and budgets and track consumption and variances through execution in conjunction with project controls team
  • Advise customers on technology selection and project execution strategy to align with the project critical success factors
  • Risk management and escalation of issues to the broader project team. This includes maintaining a risk log and drafting mitigation strategies.
  • Drive the resolution of complex technical issues across disciplines, scopes, & vendors.
  • Act as an Owner's Agent to ensure project scope and deliverables from other vendor's meet the client requirements
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.

Qualifications

Required Competencies

  • US Citizenship required
  • Experience with various automation platforms (PLC, SCADA, building automation etc.)
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple scopes simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support project requirements in North Carolina, South Carolina Virginia, Georgia, and/or Texas – approximately 25% during design/development and approximately 50% during commissioning.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in large scale capital projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Experience/Competencies

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards such as ISA and IEC.
  • Experience working in building automation or data center industry.
