Senior Data Center Infrastructure Technician
Location: Georgia | Level: L3 Senior / L4 Lead | Employment: Contract
Position Summary
Seeking a senior data center infrastructure technician to independently lead circuit audits, fiber troubleshooting, cable remediation, and infrastructure validation in large-scale data center environments. The role requires strong technical judgment, accurate documentation, and coordination of corrective work in production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end circuit audits, cable tracing, port validation, and connectivity verification.
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and remediate fiber-optic infrastructure; conduct OTDR and optical-loss testing.
- Validate infrastructure power paths, including redundant A/B feeds and PDU connections, within authorized scope.
- Investigate connectivity and physical-infrastructure faults; document root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate circuit records, cable maps, labeling, test results, and as-built documentation.
- Follow change-control and incident-management procedures while coordinating remediation with operations teams.
- Provide technical leadership for infrastructure validation and remediation projects; guide other technicians as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on data center infrastructure operations, with senior-level troubleshooting experience.
- Strong fiber-optic installation, cable tracing, OTDR testing, and fault isolation skills.
- Experience conducting circuit audits, remediation, power-path validation, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently in live data centers, maintain precise records, and follow change procedures.
- Clear communication skills and experience coordinating technical work across teams.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hyperscale or colocation facilities; familiarity with DCIM systems, Fluke or equivalent test tools, and leading small technical teams.
