Location: Sterling Heights, MI ON-SITE
Duration: Temp-to-hire position for 1 year
Schedule: 9/80
Pay: $38.00 to $42.00 hourly

Summary:
We are seeking individuals with experience and a passion for software integration and testing of real-time, embedded software.
The Software Integration Engineer plans and performs a variety of tasks across the areas of integrating hardware modules into a combat vehicle system, integrating software items onto Linux Operating Systems, scripting, networking, cybersecurity hardening and scans, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing.
Duties:
- Integrates and tests software applications running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and hardware components on a combat vehicle system • Applies knowledge of Ethernet and CAN bus within software applications or tools to test and troubleshoot problems
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering and vehicle test teams to investigate reported issues and analyze collected data
- Ensures that technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices
- Ensures that product outcomes meet customer needs and that customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements are met
Skills Required:
- Integration and testing of software applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Operating Systems
- Ability to build and maintain a software and hardware integration testbed
- Understanding of Ethernet and CAN bus protocols
- Git and Jira/Gitlab Configuration Management tools
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are a MUST
- Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines
- Ability to apply critical thinking to solve technical design and development problems
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems
- Ability to travel to the customer site
- Ability to work on combat vehicles systems.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. RECENT GRAD with internship experience
- Linux experience
