Contract Analytical Scientist
Notes:
- Must have a bachelors degree in Chemistry or related science
- Must have 2-3 years of WORKING industrial experience (not just internships)
- Must have experience working with different analytical instrumentations (HPLC, UV, FTIR, KF, XRD, DSC, TGA)
- Pharmaceutical/ drug formulation background
- They have summer Fridays until Labor Day in which candidates can only work 4 hours on Fridays. They can extend their hours Monday – Thursday to make up the missing hours on Friday and have a complete 40/ hr work week. Exact hours TBD during interview process with hiring manager.
- Onsite 5 days per week
We currently have an opening for an analytical chemist to support development and testing of novel extended-release ocular drug products. The individual we are looking for must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable and be motivated by the opportunity to learn new technologies.
Key areas of responsibility
- Participate in analytical method development to analyze quality and performance of ocular drug products
- Analyze and interpret data generated and record data in the appropriate format
- Update peers/supervisors on progress at group meetings
- Run, maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Perform laboratory work in an accurate and independent manner
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry or related science with 2-3 years of industrial experience
- Possess knowledge and understanding of applicable scientific principles
- Familiar with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, UV, FTIR, KF, XRD, DSC, TGA with the aptitude to be trained on additional analytical equipment
- Some experience in developing analytical methods
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software packages and incorporate them into laboratory processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Maintain effective communication with internal and external colleagues
