Shulamith School for Girls is seeking a reliable, organized, and hands-on Evening Custodial Supervisor to oversee our existing nighttime cleaning team across multiple school buildings.

We are looking for a responsible leader who takes pride in maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized facilities and can ensure that all custodial responsibilities are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the evening custodial staff across multiple school facilities.
• Travel between buildings throughout the shift to monitor staff performance and ensure all assigned responsibilities are completed.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs and inspections of classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Ensure cleaning standards are consistently maintained throughout all facilities.
• Assign and prioritize daily cleaning tasks and follow up on completion.
• Communicate regularly with the Director of Operations and Head of Maintenance regarding staffing, building conditions, and any issues requiring attention.
• Identify areas needing additional cleaning or maintenance and coordinate appropriate follow-up.
• Assist with staff scheduling, task assignments, and accountability.
• Ensure proper use and organization of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Oversee event setups, breakdowns, and special cleaning projects as needed.
• Step in to assist the custodial team when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must speak and communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
• Previous custodial, facilities, or cleaning supervision experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage staff and hold team members accountable.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to cleanliness and quality.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required to travel between school facilities.
• Availability to work evening hours and occasional weekends.
• Must successfully complete a background check.
• Resume required.

Work Schedule

• Approximately 5–6 hours per evening.
• Typical hours: Start between 3:30–4:00 PM and finish between 9:00–10:00 PM.
• Some flexibility may be required depending on school events, building needs, and special projects.
• Occasional weekend availability may be required.

About the Position

This is a hands-on supervisory role working with an established custodial team. The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of evening building operations, proactively identify issues, and work closely with school leadership to ensure all facilities are properly maintained and ready for the following school day.
