Job DescriptionImmediate Need - Janitor/Custodian in Bangor
Are you someone who takes pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and welcoming? We're looking for a dependable and hardworking Janitor/Custodian to help maintain indoor/outdoor facilities, vehicles, and general areas. This is an important role that helps create a positive experience for everyone who visits and uses our services.
What You'll Do:
- Clean and maintain floors, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
- Wash windows, vacuum carpets, and perform routine floor care
- Clean and maintain buses, vans, and bus shelters
- Remove trash and recyclables from buildings, vehicles, and outdoor areas
- Keep walkways, stairs, and handicap ramps safe by removing snow and ice and applying salt or ice melt when needed
- Assist customers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Monitor and inventory cleaning supplies
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
What We're Looking For:
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment
- Ability to safely use custodial tools and materials
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Friendly attitude and ability to interact with the public
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
Working Conditions: This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. Duties require moderate physical activity, including bending, stooping, lifting, and handling cleaning products.
