Job Description
This 2nd shift Maintenance Technician role focuses on supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation by monitoring, maintaining, and repairing production machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The position requires hands-on work on the production floor, adherence to 5S and safety standards, and accurate documentation of work performed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor production machine operation during 2nd shift to identify malfunctions and performance issues.
- Adjust machines to proper, documented specifications to maintain product quality and equipment reliability.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to the maintenance plan to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial systems on production equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine system functions and diagnose issues.
- Complete detailed work orders, prepare maintenance reports, and accurately record hours per job completed.
- Use office software to communicate with team members, document maintenance activities, and prepare work instructions.
- Maintain the workshop and work areas in a clean, organized manner in accordance with 5S principles.
- Keep tools and shop equipment clean, properly stored, and in good working order.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including when working in specialized production areas.
- Support production workers by responding promptly to equipment issues and helping maintain continuous operation.
- Perform repetitive, fast-paced, hands-on tasks while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Lift, move, and handle components and equipment weighing up to 30–50 pounds as needed during maintenance activities.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing production machinery in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance following a scheduled maintenance plan.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics as applied to industrial machinery.
- Skill in mechanical troubleshooting and machine repair.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting in a production environment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use typical office software for communication and documentation.
- Ability to perform basic math to support measurements, adjustments, and documentation.
- Capability to stand for an 8-hour shift in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.
- Ability to lift and handle 30–50 pounds safely as part of daily tasks.
- High school diploma.
- Two years of applicable trade school or college, five years of work experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility on a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The work environment is fast paced and production oriented, requiring you to stand for an entire 8-hour shift and perform repetitive, hands-on tasks. You will work in and around production areas where you must suit up and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toe or composite-toe shoes during your shift and for the interview. The facility follows 5S principles, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and safety in both the workshop and production areas. You will regularly interact with production machinery, tools, and shop equipment, and you will use computer systems and typical office software for documentation and communication.

This is a Contract position based out of Belen, NM.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
