Member of Technical Staff - Product Engineer
Job Description
Job DescriptionAbout the Role
This is a full-stack product engineering role at a well-funded AI/ML company focused on building intelligent tools that help people think, reason, and create. You'll work at the 0-to-1 stage — owning product direction, shipping across the entire stack, and bridging deep customer empathy with hands-on engineering.
What You'll Do
-
Shape product direction and drive 0-to-1 development across the full stack.
-
Conduct user interviews and shadow users to surface real, unspoken needs.
-
Build and tear down rough prototypes rapidly to validate product ideas.
-
Collect and synthesize feedback from internal and external users to guide iteration.
-
Assemble clean code abstractions that enable fast iteration, and remove code that doesn't serve product-market fit.
-
Ship backend and frontend features across multiple interfaces — web, CLI, IDE, and more.
-
Partner with product design to transform promising ideas into polished features.
What We're Looking For
-
3+ years of experience in full-stack product engineering roles.
-
Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript; hands-on experience with React/TypeScript is a strong plus.
-
Demonstrated ability to build 0-to-1 software products from scratch.
-
Strong computer science fundamentals — data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving — ideally backed by a CS, Math, or related degree.
-
Experience talking to users, understanding customer needs, and translating them into product decisions.
-
Comfort navigating ambiguity and delivering independently without heavy direction.
-
Background as a founding engineer or former founder is a significant plus.
-
Experience at companies with strong or highly technical engineering cultures (e.g., in areas like fintech, AI research, or quantitative finance).
-
Contributions to open-source projects, developer tooling, or products built for engineers is a bonus.
-
Strong communication skills — able to explain complex ideas clearly and ask sharp questions.
-
Ability to write high-quality, well-tested production code.
