Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid, 50% onsite)
Type: 12-month contract, W2 through ICON Consultants
Pay: $80.00/hour
A leading technology company is looking for a hands-on, technical Data Analyst to turn large, complex datasets into clear answers. The most important part of this role is answering one question: “What is the data telling us?” Then you explain that answer in plain, everyday language to business partners who aren’t technical.
What you’ll do
- Pull, clean, validate and transform large datasets from multiple sources
- Write SQL and research queries in BigQuery to answer business questions
- Build dashboards, visualizations and reports in Tableau, including live reporting
- Dig deep with exploratory and ad hoc analysis to find patterns, trends and problems that existing reports miss
- Automate data quality checks so the reporting can be trusted
- Measure whether programs and process changes are working
- Present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders
What you’ll need
- 5+ years as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer or similar technical role
- Strong SQL with big data experience. BigQuery is strongly preferred.
- Advanced Tableau or a similar visualization tool
- Experience with Cursor or other AI-assisted coding tools
- Strong Google Sheets skills
- Experience with Python or notebooks is a plus
- Excellent communication skills. You can explain technical findings simply and confidently.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field, or equivalent experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
